Best gluten free cereal – Banaban Coconut Meat October 1, 2013 healthy products, nutrition, product innovation, TDapproved Best Gluten Free Cereal – Banaban Coconut Meat Oh my gosh! I stumbled across this product a couple of days ago and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the fibre content (I genuinely flipped over a few boxes just to confirm it wasn’t a typo on one of the boxes!). Coconut meat which is naturally super high in fibre has been made into this phenomenal breakfast cereal that is literally just coconut meat! No additives, no preservatives, gluten free, definitely wheat free, and beyond high in fibre! Please check out this information panel and ingredients list for me: Super high fibre gluten free coconut cereal I am beyond impressed with this product! Low GI, high fibre, no added sugar and gluten free (for those that are searching for products like this for one reason or another), and low sodium. It is a new addition to the range from an Australian company Banaban who has a range of coconut based products. They have an online store for anyone wanting to order the cereal (unless of course you have seen it in your local health food store). At $6.95 a box, which they say provides you with 5 x 50g serves, it really seems like good value to me. I think you could even stretch this out to 10 serves that are each 25g, and place it on top of some plain greek yoghurt for a super high fibre and high protein breakfast or snack. Put it this way, 25g of this Banaban coconut meat cereal on top of 170g of plain Chobani greek yoghurt, would provide – 20g of protein and 18g of fibre, all for less than 1000kJ or around 225 calories – seriously impressive option for a filling breakfast that provides you with sustained energy release, probiotics, and well over 50% of your daily dietary fibre requirements! Okay, I think you get the level of excitement that I have over this product so I will leave it at that!
